The Chamreoun Sok Family

Our Story

Chamreoun Sok sent his wife, Pon Pov, to talk to our team at no small cost. She paid over $8 in transportation fees to make the journey, putting into perspective the importance Every Piece Matters holds for their family! This was after the riverbank their house was on fell into the river; crushing and tragically killing one of their neighbours. She and her husband have been forced to live on their tiny fishing boat ever since, being slowly washed further and further away from Ta Skor. However, when they heard about Every Piece Matters, they still spent what little they had on the extra gasoline to make it back and join.

Pon Pov has sadly miscarried three times in the last two years, and would love to find work that isn’t so physical (she works as a laborer on a construction site in Phnom Penh) so she can regain her health and start a family. They are currently in $800 USD of debt and are struggling to make their repayments due to the couple’s unstable incomes.
