The Chhun Thinn Family
Our Story
Thorn Sean and her husband, Chhun Thinn, would love to live close to a market so they could sell the vegetables they grow. They currently make about $5/day fishing (on a good day) and have five children, four of whom attend public school. They dream of their children being able to all attend SALT School in the future, where they have the chance of receiving a more reliable education.
The family had originally lived on the lake for 10 years, until it was devastatingly claimed in a mudslide during the wet season; along with the Chamreoun family’s house. They have therefore been forced to rebuild and make do, starting again from scratch. The couple hopes to one day have a stable home for their family to live in!
