The Chim Family
Our Story
An older couple with adult children, Yam Pov and Chim Chan live in a shack at the bottom of a ravine. They both suffer from arthritis, unable to afford medication to help with the pain. They are excited about the economic development they see in their neighbourhood, but are concerned they will have to move.
They owe $400 USD in debt, and earn about $2.50 USD a day running a small shop in Ta Skor. With such a low daily income paying off their debt can seem unreachable. Through a translator, Yam Pov asks, “I am getting old and am responsible for supporting my extended family with my income. What happens when I die?” They are excited to join Every Piece Matters and for the stability it will create for their family and their future!
