The Jom Tout Family
Our Story
Jom Tout lives with her daughter, So Channy, and her three children. Two of them are old enough to attend the public school. Her son in law has left them for another woman which is devastating news for the family. Jom Tout is too old to work, she is supported by her daughter who washes clothes. “We will live under the bridge when it is built,” So Channy jokes, “since we do not own this land” – how inspiring to hear her sense of humour amongst a difficult situation! All she wants from the future is safety and for her children and grandchildren to have a better life.
