The Lon Family

Our Story

Lon Chanty and her husband, Lon Kimsung, would love to have their own business selling food and groceries next to the road. They live with their two young boys and Lon Chanty’s widowed mother, Kong Bah, who has lived in the same house in Ta Skor village since she was born!

They worry about their $3,000 USD debt and living costs as Kong Bah makes rattan mats, and Lon Kimsung is away working in the city. The couple’s combined daily wage is $12.50, which makes it very difficult to pay off their debt at a fast rate. They dream of sending their children to SALT School so they can each have good jobs in the future!
