The Ma Makara Family
Our Story
Ma Makara and his wife Maen Phearon are excited about Every Piece Matters because it may give them the chance they’ve been waiting for to start their own business! The two have raised their three children, however they have acquired a debt of $400 USD to pay for hospital bills for their child and to buy a motor. They hope to one day be able to afford to send their children to SALT School, because they understand the value of education and don’t want them to have a life as hard as theirs. They make $250 a month working at a glove factory in Phnom Penh- meaning they have the added stress of daily travel. They don’t own their own land, and know they may sadly be forced out of her mother’s house, where they are currently living, at any time.
