The Nhek Family
Our Story
Nhek Sophath is an older, single woman. Her leg was badly broken in an accident years ago, and she has trouble breathing as her nasal passageway is partially blocked from a birth defect. Despite this she perseveres and works two days a week as a landscaper for a nearby wealthy family. She has a little debt from borrowing money for food when she does not get called for work. “I live on my own and I wonder, what will happen to me?” She asked us when we met her – highlighting the fragility of her current situation. She has no children.
