The Phoung Family
Our Story
Both of Phoung Hong and Buth Korb’s older sons, 17 and 25, have been gone since April 2015; and their parents are worried sick! They left to Thailand to pick fruit and try to earn some extra money for the family, but the season is over and there has been no money or word – an unimaginable situation for their parents who are currently caring for their two grandchildren. Phoung Hong used to be a carpenter, though now he works in construction. They are in over $2,000 USD of debt from simply trying to support their family. One day, if they could save enough, they would love to send both their grandchildren to school so that they don’t have as much trouble finding work.
