The Roeurn Savuth Family – Fully Pledged
Our Story
Roeurn Savuth and his wife, Peang Mab, are in over $400 USD of debt. They originally had to borrow $2,500 USD to build their house from four separate lenders- so while their debt is still large, they are on the right track with paying it off slowly! They catch and sell snails and fish when they can, but this isn’t sustainable and they have four children to care for. Three more work in Phnom Penh and one has moved out with her husband. Roeurn Savath and one of his daughters have a genetic heart condition which they tragically can’t afford to treat. Only two of their children go to school (they can’t afford to send the others) and they are extremely worried about having to move as the region develops, and borrow more money to build another house!
