The Soeurng Sokheang Family
Our Story
Peang Chanthy and her husband Soeurng Sokheang live with their young daughter in her step father’s house in Ta Skor Village. They are in over $650 USD of debt, owed to not one but four agencies. They often struggle with their repayments and worry that they may have to borrow again just so that their family can survive! Mum works as a seller, and Dad as a builder. Work is not always consistent and their minimal wages often fluctuate.
The couple hope to be able to send their daughter to SALT School when she is old enough to receive a quality education. Peang Chanthy desperately hopes that with education, her children will be equipped to break free from the vicious cycle of poverty! She wishes for a better future for her family, where they have a home and a stable income to rely on.
