The Sun Family
Our Story
Sun Sara and her husband Hout To would love their children to finish school. He makes about $7 USD a day working in construction. They had saved quite a lot of money, but it was stolen, and they’ve had to start their lives again with their eldest child forced to drop out of University. This shows how completely unprecedented life in Cambodia can be when one doesn’t have a sustainable livelihood! The two are in about $7,000 USD of debt to five separate lenders. Mum and Dad work very hard to send three children to school, however they sadly cannot afford to send their fourth. He works to help support his family. If they could, they would move somewhere less remote. The couple worries about being relocated to a more remote place as the area develops.
