The Plong Family
Our Story
Sien Thy and her husband Plong Pov live at the edge of Ta Skor. “We have two dreams,” she shares shyly, “to have a fish farm and a stall at the market selling vegetables” – both dreams that can become a reality through Every Piece Matters! They have three children attending the government school and SALT School in grades 7, 8, and remarkably, 12. Their eldest son was the only young person we spoke to who was on track to graduate at 19 – a huge milestone that restores hope for the future! “We’re worried about our debt,” Plong Pov says. “I want my son to keep studying.” The couple have acquired thousands of dollars in debt, owed to six agencies, and struggle every day with the reality of paying it back.
