The Pbuy Family
Our Story
Pbuy Pum lives in a tiny house with her husband, Heng Chomrern, two children and parents in Ta Skor village. She works selling the fish that her husband catches, however the couple worry that their seasonal and infrequent work will soon not be enough to support their family of six. They desperately hope they won’t have to borrow money and collapse into debt, however they don’t own the land they live on and may soon be forced to move, as a result of the new development in the area.
Pbuy Pum believes in the value of education, sending her twin boys to SALT School in the morning and Government School in the afternoon, however she is concerned about affording their education costs. The couple work not for their own, but for their children’s future! They need a stable livelihood so that they can support their kids and stop living day-to-day, constantly struggling to get by.
