Trip FAQs

Where is Nowanup?

A 5hr drive south-east from Perth and 1.5hrs east of Albany, Nowanup is located in Goreng Noongar Country.

What is the ‘fundraising’ cost and how does it work?

Your fundraising goal is shown in your trip guide. You will be provided with your own online fundraising page that can be shared via all platforms. You can fundraise offline – any physical donations will need to be transferred onto your fundraising page. You are required to reach your fundraising target 1 month prior to trip commencement.

Where will I be sleeping?

You will be provided a swag to set up and sleep in for the duration of your trip. Don’t worry if you haven’t ever slept in a swag before – it’s comfy and dry!

What will we be eating?

From camp oven chicken through to burgers, you will rotate in groups to prepare different meals during your trip. RAW provides all the ingredients, menus, and guidance for top notch camp food.

What if I have food allergies?

We can cater to most types of food allergies. We provide safe meal options for people with specific requirements including gluten free, nut and shellfish allergies, etc.

What projects will we be doing?

There are many types of projects that we undertake while at Nowanup. These include, land care and maintence, landscaping, building renovations and painting, building of new structures, and much more. All projects done at Nowanup are based on the needs and priorities of Nowanup. RAW Impact works closely with them to decide which projects are the highest priorities close to the time of your trip.
