Trip FAQs

What is the ‘fundraising’ cost and how does it work?

Your fundraising goal is shown in your trip guide. You will be provided with your own online fundraising page that can be shared via all platforms. You can fundraise offline – any physical donations will need to be transferred onto your fundraising page. You are required to reach your fundraising target 1 month prior to trip commencement.

What accomodation will we stay in?

You will be staying in hotels in all of the locations on your trip. This is to ensure you get the rest needed to work well on the projects each day.

Where will we eat?

Breakfasts in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap will be catered for at your hotel. We will be fed amazing village lunches on our project days. For other lunches and all dinners, we will be taking you to eat out at some of our favourite local restuarants.

I want to bring my family. Is it safe for me to bring kids?

Absolutely! We specialise in hosting families on the ground. Having kids ourselves, we know how life-changing a trip like this can be for kids and their parents, but also understand the needs and support families require.

What is covered in my Trip Costs?

From when you land in Cambodia to when you are dropped off for your departing flight, your accomodation, food, transport, and access to cultural sites are all covered in your Trip Costs. You will want to bring US cash ($1 and $5 notes are great!) to explore Phnom Penh in tuk tuks, buy a local sim card, coffees, snacks, and things from local markets.

What else will i need to get to Cambodia?

You will need to book your own flights, purchase travel insurance, and get a Cambodian visa. These are not included in your Trip Costs.

What if I have food allergies?

We can cater to most types of food allergies. We work closely with our food vendors to provide safe meal options for people with specific requirements including gluten free, nut and shellfish allergies, etc.

What about vaccinatations?

We recommend that you talk with your preferred GP or travel docter for any personal medical decisions.

What projects will we be doing?

Your team will first be working at our Every Piece Matters Village. As we are building a village, you could be building bathrooms, doing maintence on existing houses, building a new house, or working on landscaping – whatever you do, it will be significant and meaningful in bettering the lives of slum families.
The second project you will be working on will be at Trong Island – a small, amazing rural Cambodian island in the middle of the Mekong River in Kratie Province. RAW has a block of land on Trong Island that will serve as a launch pad for our work with families in Koki Village. It will also be the future site for teams to stay during their time in Kratie. As a team you will be working on infrastructure and landscaping projects there.
